Once a car arrives at a repair facility, it will be tracked continuously
through the entire process until it is completed and released for service.
Repair detail will be added to the historical database and be subjected to
the same screening and analysis as railroad generated billing.
To remain approved for business from RAS, shops must adhere to acceptable throughput,
quality, and cost standards. In addition, RAS will also track re-shop frequency and
perform facility audits as necessary to ensure the highest quality of repairs
possible. Certain facilities which are used frequently may be required to
submit annual pricing for various repair procedures. All information is
maintained in a database used to continually evaluate shop performance.
